What is a bad friendship?
Working out the difference between a good friendship and a bad one isn’t as easy as it may seem. However, there are ways you can recognise when a friendship is no good. Sometimes it can be difficult to know what to do about toxic friendships, and ending a friendship is sometimes the only option. Getting help when you need it is a really important part of making sure you’re surrounded by supportive people.
A dishonest man spreads strife, and a whisperer separates close friends.
And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it
away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your
whole body go into hell.
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is
faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but
with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may
be able to endure it.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see
whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into
the world.
But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need,
yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices
righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice
of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the
beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works
of the devil.
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a
wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for
murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars,
their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which
is the second death.”
Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing
honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share
with anyone in need.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is
through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and
pierced themselves with many pangs.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit
within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were
bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.
Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed
be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to
the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have
divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every
lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every
thought captive to obey Christ,
Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be
called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does
not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children
now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he
appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.
And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Yet he filled their houses with good things— but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to
impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;
Saying, “I called out to the
Lord, out of my distress, and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice.
For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
Malicious witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I do not know.
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your
father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing
to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he
speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of
lies.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
One who is righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright delivers them.
Many are saying of my soul, there is no salvation for him in God. Selah But you, O
Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner
worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility
and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager
to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name
under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
He foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he
was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.
The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: To know
wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, to receive
instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; to
give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth— Let
